The genre in one minute
Survival reality competition television is a genre in which real participants endure restricted resources and hostile environments within a constructed competition, with success determined through endurance, elimination, social strategy, or outlasting others.
It is not a single show, a franchise, or a platform. To understand it, keep returning to three corners: the text, its audience, and the industry that makes it.

Where this is heading
